The CPS has released a copy of the 2005-6 planned budget costs for News of the World – a memo of a meeting produced, according to witness Beverley Stokes, PA to the former Managing Editor Stuart Kuttner, by the managing editor‘s office. The memo apparently records discussions with then editor Andy Coulson in late February, early March 2005. On page two, on a section called Special Inquiries the memo proposes cutting the current cost of Nine Consultancy, Glenn Mulcaire’s company, by 50% from its annual rate of £105,000 at the time.
All eight defendants deny all of the charges and the trial continues tomorrow, on December 5th
